Natalie Strawn, a 20 year old Nebraska woman, can tell you first hand that it is possible. Natalie struggled with her weight all her life. When she was 17, she had dropped out of high school because she could barely move with the 552 pounds of excess weight she was carrying around.
She was at a crossroads in her life and made a decision to do something about this weight that she so desperately needed to lose. Weight Watchers was a part of that decision. She is taking each day, one day at a time, with the help of her mom and her continued quest of more weight loss.
I was truly inspired when I saw her story on Good Morning America. As you all know, I am forever on a journey to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I am a member of Weight Watchers Online and enjoy all of the support and love that I get from the Weight Watcher’s Online Community. I can’t say enough good things about how much I have enjoyed the program.
What makes Natalie Strawn’s story so inspiring is that she did not give up or throw the towel in, despite how hard it was to get around weighing 552 pounds. I can’t fathom how much pain she must have been in each and every day. Personally, when I gain 5 or 6 pounds, I feel it immediately in my clothes and body.
Healthy living is a lifestyle that needs to be nurtured and tended to on a daily basis. As they say, Rome was not built in a day, so it is ludicrous to think that being in shape is just a snap of a finger, or a shake, or a pill, or fake pre-packaged food, or some other quick fix scheme. Maintaining a healthy weight and being in good physical condition takes time and commitment to yourself.
One thing that Weight Watchers has t aught me is that sharing the weight loss journey and healthy lifestyle with friends and loved ones, makes it more fun. It is my goal to continue on my weight loss journey and enjoy the adventure with family and friends. I encourage you to join me if you want to lose weight or get in shape.
