Great quote… Now I encourage you to see every disappointment as a step in the right direction towards reaching your goal.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life, so go out there and make it work. This includes exercise, work, weight loss, writing or any other thing that you are working on.
Recently, I saw the movie “My week with Marilyn”. Very interesting take on a slice of the iconic Marilyn’s life. She accomplished so much with so little. You have to be in awe of this larger than life screen siren that really was so very simple. She overcame so many obstacles and realized her dream. Nothing came easy for her and most of the people that surrounded her, did not have her best interest at heart.
Michelle Williams and Judi Dench both gave excellent performances. They gave you a glimpse of how truly talented people persevere and overcome obstacles. It is not easy for even the truly gifted people. They make it look effortless, but really have to try to make it work. This is a valuable lesson that anything worth having, such as talent or skill must be honed and perfected. Despite the countless takes and retakes, a true star realizes that perfection is earned and does not come easy.
We should all be grateful that Colin Clark had the opportunity to spend a short time with her in London while she was filming the movie with Laurence Olivier. We were given such an intimate look of the person behind the mystique. The movie captured her innocence, her raw determination just to be the best and to enjoy life.
We are all blessed with gifts and talents that are to be used and cultivated. I hope that you realize your talents and hone them to become the best person that you can be.
It starts with a goal and a purpose. To be successful, really and truly successful, you have to try hard and have some setbacks. It really does not matter how you start the race, the accomplishments are getting back up after falling back a few times and finishing what you started.
Seize the day!!! Go out and do something Big…
