I can’t tell you how delighted I am for Jayde- The B2B search engine e-newsletter for turning me on to Scrivener software, a writing system by a group called Literature and Latte. As a writer, I am always on the lookout for new things to make writing and blogging easier. It seems like Scrivener is that perfect little tool that every writer should own.
After being intrigued by wonderful website and videos on the Scrivener website, I sought reviews and testimonials from other blogging sites. There are lots of them out there, but none as captivating as the one by Bridget Wright – “Why I use Scrivener for Blog Planning“, a guest post on one of the most energetic WordPress sites by the fabulous Kevin Muldoon. If you know of Kevin, you will agree that he is so talented and energetic. If you want to be motivated for blogging, read his fascinating story.
Now back to the subject at hand, Scrivener. In Bridget Wright’s article, I was totally blown away about how Scrivener can make a blogger’s life much easier. Initially, I was only looking to Scrivener for help with my novel writing and organization. If you are a writer, you know that there are tons of notes and paper in the writing process. I will be so happy when I release my first book. It is really a labor of love with all the writing and rewriting and organizing. This is where Scrivener will come in hand.
Bridget succinctly outlined every possible reason as to why any blogger or writer should own Scrivener. The editorial calendar, notes section, ease of adding images, the helpful forum, the ease of managing multiple blogs and last but not least a few links to other blog reviews on Scrivener. I enjoyed Bridget’s writing style and her inclusion of links to Scrivener reviews by Jay Artale – “Benefits of Using Scrivener for Blogging” and Sharon Hurley – “Scrivener: a Great Tool for Professional Bloggers. Reading these well written reviews helped shape my decision even more as to why I should own this software.
Most of us learn by example and by doing. Reading first hand how this software has helped these successful bloggers and marketers was a game changer for me. Watching professionals give you their playbook of how this software helps enrich their writing is just a wonderful experience for me.
Coming across Thaddeus Hunt’s blog post “Writing: Scrivener as a complete Blogging System” showed me that this system has been helping successful writers for years. What is there not to love about this awesome writing tool.
I look forward to using the Scrivener software in my writing efforts and hopefully will celebrate the launch of one of my novels real soon.
Until then, if you are a writer or blogger, I encourage you to check out the Scrivener software for yourself. They offer a free trial, so you can try before you buy, something I always welcome with any software purchase.
