2012 Summer Olympics – Amazing Opening Ceremony

2012 Summer Olympics

must say that I totally enjoyed the opening Olympic ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London last night.  The planning committee did an outstanding job.

Everything was spectacular.  One of my favorite parts was the snippet with James Bond and The Queen.  Daniel Craig and the Queen’s stunt double were both brilliant. I was impressed with the how similar the double looked to Queen Elizabeth. Daniel Craig never fails to deliver an outstanding performance in everything he does. I love this man…

The dance routine with the music taking you across the decades, was amazing. What really took me by surprise was how multi-cultural the ensemble group looked.  I was happy to see so many faces from different groups make up the cast and have fun with the song and dance.  Hats off to the producer and casting agent for selecting such a wonderful group. The costume designer and the choreographers also deserve a round of applause for the moving performance. I really enjoyed watching and singing the tunes.

I am looking forward to watching the Summer Olympics over the next few weeks and look forward to sharing my thoughts on the games.

Exercising with My New Samsung Galaxy S3

Today is the first day that I exercised with my new toy: The Samsung Galaxy S3. I am sure that I will be taking lots of photos with this phone. WOW… What a difference from my Blackberry. Although I loved my little red Blackberry, it can’t compete with Galaxy S3.

The screen size is great and the keyboard works awesome with my new screen cover.

I left my Ipod Touch at home today for my workout.  It felt a little weird without it at first, but I got over it quickly :)

I am still learning how to use my Samsung Galaxy S3. But Day 2 and exercise worked perfectly. Today I need to find a cool cover for the phone.  The sprint store only had lame covers that were not worth the price tag.  If I have to pay for the cover, I want it to have style as well as function. Reflection: Seize the Day – Enjoy Life…

Today I learned that one of my friends lost a very close childhood friend.  It was sad to hear the person’s last days on earth were not fun due to a host of ailments.  I have heard so much about this person over the years, that I felt like I lost an old friend myself.  He was always the life of the party and would light up any room once he entered.  A man with many talents and gifts.  Always thinking of others first.

I reflected on the memories of this friend and how important it is to enjoy life each day. Exercise, eat right. tell those that you love how much you care about them. Fulfill your destiny and live life to the fullest.

It is so funny that my thoughts are more focused when I exercise and practice my yoga stretches. I personally believe that there is a correlation between diet and exercise and positive energy.

I want to share a quote from Lou Holtz that inspired me today on attitude:

“Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.”

Lou Holtz was a famous football coach that was born in 1937. He is an active sportscaster, author, and motivational speaker. I wonder why is it that great football coaches, can create such soul stirring motivational quotes.  What a gift and talent to have. Thanks Mr. Holtz for this timeless quote that is so empowering.

We all know how difficult it is to exercise when you have a demanding schedule. However, work and age is never an excuse. Despite having a hectic work schedule and being over 40, one of America’s most loved Chef’s Rachel Ray still finds time to exercise.  According to an article on OMG Yahoo!, she did not start exercising seriously until after 40. Given that she is in her early 40′s, this was only a few years ago.

Rachel Ray opens up about how she starts her day each morning in the gym with her husband. It is always a perk to have a live-in work out partner for exercise. Besides the obvious of a great physique, exercise is great for the mind. Rachel Ray stated the following in her interview with OMG Yahoo:

“It really makes me feel mentally so much more on point, so much more even. I don’t lose my temper. I don’t get lost in the middle of the day,” she shares. “I just have a much cleaner, clearer vision every day and I can get so much more accomplished mentally by moving physically every day.”

Fitness Ball is great for Core Strength

I just completed a 45 minute routine using my Fitness Ball. My body feels great after my cool down with a few dynamic  yoga stretches.

It is super fun and easy doing exercises with my Fitness Ball using my beautiful hardcover book “Swiss Ball for Core Strength” by Declan Condron.  One of the primary reasons I love this book is the design and spiral coil binding that is hidden within the hardcover. This makes it easy to keep the book flat while I am doing my Fitness Ball exercises. Kudo’s to author Declan Condron for using this type of bindery. It helps readers stay engaged while exercising and reading  the  “Swiss Ball for Core Strength” book. [Read more...]
